In 2032, biotech entrepreneur Sonja Woodward has developed a genetic test to predict unethical behavior in teenagers, sending those who test positive to her controversial Woodward Academy on Nantucket Island. Among the first students is high school senior Montgomery Hughes, who has assumed a false identity to escape his past. As Monty navigates the school's dark underbelly, he discovers the disturbing treatments applied to students who don't conform, and risks facing Sonja's punitive gene-editing 'cure' when his true identity is uncovered.
