In 1961 East Berlin, Kirstin Beck is driven to escape to the West to help her grandmother as the border closes and a barbed wire fence emerges near her home. Meanwhile, American writer Tony Marino, who catches a glimpse of Kirstin from his West Berlin apartment, becomes her ally when she signals for help. Together, they devise a perilous plan to navigate the dangers posed by the Stasi, all while facing the complexities of a divided nation. Will Kirstin find the freedom she desperately seeks, or will the oppressive regime thwart their efforts?
