The Canterbury Tales [Blackstone]

At the Tabard Inn, a diverse group of 30 travelers gathers to embark on a pilgrimage to Canterbury, where they engage in a storytelling competition to pass the time. Each traveler will share four tales, with the inn's host judging their narratives for a chance to win a free supper upon their return. The resulting collection features over 20 stories told from various perspectives—including those of knights, merchants, wives, and nuns—encompassing themes that are bawdy, spiritual, romantic, and mysterious, all while reflecting life in late 14th-century England.
