O America: Discovery in a New Land

In 1848, English physician Nathaniel Trennant embarks on a journey to America as a ship doctor but quickly becomes immersed in the grim realities of slavery he encounters in Baltimore. After discovering a runaway slave hidden beneath his bed, Trennant decides to help him escape, leading both men on a perilous flight from the law and slave hunters. Their journey through diverse landscapes and encounters with memorable characters deepens their friendship and sheds light on the social injustices and economic inequities of early America.
