Star Trek: Discovery: Drastic Measures

Set ten years before the Battle at the Binary Stars, this novel explores a dire situation on the Federation colony Tarsus IV, where a dangerous contagion threatens its food supplies and inhabitants. As Lieutenant Commander Gabriel Lorca faces the escalating crisis from a nearby Starfleet outpost, Commander Philippa Georgiou leads a team of first responders to provide aid. However, they arrive to find that Governor Adrian Kodos has already resorted to a shocking solution to prevent mass starvation, prompting Georgiou and Lorca to track down the man who will become infamously known as "Kodos the Executioner."
