In the quirky town of Grange, Florida, JoLayne Lucks becomes an unlikely lottery winner while facing competition from the unhinged duo Bodean Gazzer and his sidekick Chub, who have their sights set on her $28 million jackpot for their own militia plans. After a violent encounter leaves JoLayne determined to reclaim her ticket, she enlists the help of Tom Krome, a disillusioned journalist.
