Queen of Swords

In the late summer of 1814, Hannah Bonner and her half-brother Luke embark on a perilous journey through the Caribbean and into New Orleans, seeking to reclaim Luke’s son from the wealthy and unscrupulous Poiterin family. As they navigate a city rife with prejudice and on the brink of war, their careful plans unravel, leaving Hannah isolated and gravely ill. In her darkest hour, a former acquaintance, Dr. Paul de Guise Savard dit Saint-d’Uzet, helps her recover and introduces her to his resourceful half-brother, Jean-Benoit Savard, who holds the key to saving their fractured family amidst the chaos of the War of 1812. With newfound allies and determination, they strive to reunite and return home to Lake in the Clouds.
