Constance Wetherill, a young socialite facing a shattered future after her uncle's reckless spending leaves her with only $5000 and an elderly grandmother to care for, relocates to an unfamiliar town to pursue her dream of opening a tea room. As she settles into her new, decrepit home with affordable rent, rumors of a haunting persist, fueled by sightings of a mysterious lady in white. With the help of a local boy and the minister, Constance seeks to quell these superstitions, but the town's bootlegger has plans that could disrupt her fresh start.
