The Naïve and Sentimental Lover

In "A Nave and Sentimental Lover," John le Carr explores themes of love and self-discovery through the story of Aldo Cassidy, a successful man suddenly drawn into a world of spontaneity and passion by encounters with a captivating artist and his wife. As Cassidy becomes more entwined with these complex characters, he is faced with challenging questions about his beliefs and understanding of his life. Departing from his usual espionage genre, le Carr offers a vivid and keenly observed examination of human relationships and middle-class hypocrisies.
