A Christmas Guest

In this poignant tale by Nobel Prize-winning author Selma Lagerlöf, a rather unattractive itinerant flute-player and music copyist is sent away on Christmas Eve, leaving a family to grapple with their guilt. Rooted in Nordic legends and history, Lagerlöf's romantic and imaginative storytelling sheds light on themes of giving and forgiveness, capturing the essence of peasant life and the Northern Swedish landscape. This beautifully crafted narrative is one of her most beloved works, offering a timeless exploration of human emotion and connection.
