Uncommon Valor explores the formation and operations of the highly secretive Studies and Observations Group (SOG), an elite Special Forces recon company during the Vietnam War. Comprised of volunteers from top military units such as the Green Berets and Navy SEALs, SOG executed daring missions behind enemy lines, including reconnaissance and sabotage against the North Vietnamese Army. The unit became renowned for its exceptional bravery, earning numerous decorations and accolades, including multiple Medals of Honor and Distinguished Service Crosses, while facing staggering casualty rates. Notably, soldier Bob Howard emerged as one of the most decorated veterans of the conflict.
