Chains of Folly

When the body of Nelda Roundheels is discovered in the bishop of Winchester's bedchamber, accompanied by a letter from the king's enemy, it sets off a chain of intrigue and danger. Bishop Winchester and his knight, Sir Bellamy of Itchen, must unravel a web of political motives as they seek to protect the bishop's reputation amid growing tensions with the king. With the situation further complicated by past connections, Bellamy turns to Magdalene la Batarde, a former lover, to aid in uncovering the truth behind this shocking murder.
