In a hidden military bunker near Peachtree, Alabama, a young girl named Annabel Lee finds herself trapped by her mysterious uncle, given only a few German phrases and an ominous warning to never open the door. Meanwhile, in Atlanta, private investigator Trudi Coffey is approached by a shadowy figure named Dr. Smith, who has been pursuing a man linked to her past for a decade.
