In The Uncanny, Richard Storm, a successful horror movie producer, travels to England in search of real-life ghosts that inspired his career. During a party, his reading of a classic ghost story triggers a series of events that brings his first horror film to life. Meanwhile, Harper Albright, a relentless hunter with a troubled past, must confront her former lover, Iago, before he can use the Philosopher's Stone for immortality, risking their son's life in the process. As Richard's actions intertwine with Harper's quest, a trail of ghost stories emerges, linking the present to the past.
