Sweep of the Blade

Maud Demille, a daughter of Innkeepers who provides lodging for interplanetary visitors, faces unexpected challenges following her exile with her vampire knight husband to the harsh planet of Karhari. After his death and her subsequent efforts to settle his debts, she has vowed to leave the vampire world behind, only to find herself drawn back in by Arland, the influential Marshal of House Krahr, who proposes marriage. Unsure of her path but determined to stand her ground, Maud heads to House Krahr's home planet, ready to confront her past and prove her worth to a family that has little patience for humans.
