In "Mystery Bookstore," Samantha Washington, a bookstore owner in North Harbor, Michigan, finds herself entangled in a real-life murder mystery when her tenant, local hero Dawson Alexander, becomes the prime suspect in the murder of his ex-girlfriend. As her sister Jenna works on Dawson's defense, Sam, along with her spirited grandmother Nana Jo and the enthusiastic members of the Sleuthing Senior Book Club, set out to unravel the clues. Additionally, Sam’s role as a mystery writer leads her to a fictional investigation in the English countryside, where political intrigue and historical figures add further complexity to her challenges.
