The Erstwhile

In "The Erstwhile," B. Catling returns to his unique narrative world, continuing the saga ignited in "The Vorrh." The story unfolds as reanimated beings, known as the Erstwhile, emerge with significant implications for both London and Germany, while chaos reigns in the colonial town of Essenwald due to a vanished workforce. A team led by Ishmael, the former cyclops, ventures into the enigmatic forest of the Vorrh, which holds dark secrets and an ancient guardian. Simultaneously, a mysterious abandoned child with unknown origins and immense potential adds to the tension, setting the stage for an impending clash between the old and new, as well as the human and inhuman.
