Rescue of the Bounty

"Rescue of the Bounty" recounts the harrowing experience of the tall ship Bounty, famously featured in the 1962 film Mutiny on the Bounty, as it confronts Hurricane Sandy while carrying 16 people. On October 25, 2012, Captain Robin Walbridge made the controversial decision to set sail from New London, Connecticut, despite knowledge of the impending storm. As the hurricane struck, the ship struggled against massive waves and failing systems, ultimately capsizing 90 miles off North Carolina.
