American Leftovers

American Leftovers follows siblings Heidi, Eric, and Shaun as they accompany their parents on Bible-smuggling trips across eastern Europe in the early 1970s. Upon returning to the United States, they confront complex issues of identity and home, navigating sexual situations and abuse within their evangelical upbringing. Their world shatters when their father leaves for an 18-year-old, compelling the children to reconcile their spiritual convictions with the dysfunction surrounding them.
