The Long Flight Home

In September 1940, as German bombs rain down on Britain, young Susan Shepherd and her grandfather, Bertie, find solace in raising homing pigeons, especially Duchess, who possesses a unique bond with Susan. Meanwhile, in Maine, crop-duster pilot Ollie Evans sets off for Britain to join the Royal Air Force and soon becomes entangled in a covert mission involving pigeons that are crucial for relaying information back home from German-occupied France. As their friendship strengthens amidst the looming dangers, the stakes rise when Ollie's plane is downed, and Duchess's loyalty becomes a vital link in their quest for survival and reunion.
