A Light Beyond the Trenches

In April 1916, Germany, nurse Anna Zeller works tirelessly at a hospital for wounded soldiers while her fiancé fights on the western front. Inspired by a visit from Dr. Stalling, she helps establish a guide dog training school for blind veterans, where she bonds with Nia, a wounded German shepherd. The story unfolds as Anna helps Max, a Jewish soldier who has lost his sight and dreams, navigate personal struggles amid rising anti-Semitism and the harsh realities of war. Together, they work to rediscover hope, healing, and the power of music against the backdrop of a devastating conflict.
