The Book Spy

In 1942, as the stakes of World War II intensify, President Roosevelt assembles an unconventional taskforce of librarians and microfilm specialists to gather crucial intelligence from Axis publications across Europe. Maria Alves, a skilled microfilm expert from the New York Public Library, travels to Lisbon, where she collaborates with Tiago Soares, a local bookstore owner, to collect vital information on military operations. However, their growing connection is threatened when Maria is ordered to pose as a double agent to infiltrate a Nazi sympathizer's inner circle, presenting her with both immense risks and the potential to alter the war's outcome.
