Where the False Gods Dwell

Set against the backdrop of 1935 Chicago and the Caribbean, "Where the False Gods Dwell" follows three diverse women—Othella, a con artist seeking escape; Vivian Jean, a privileged anthropologist eager to validate her worth; and Zinzi, a labor activist fighting for change in Jamaica. As they join groundbreaking choreographer Katherine Dunham’s expedition to the Maroon village of Accompong, they navigate personal struggles and form an unlikely sisterhood. Their journey takes a perilous turn when Hurricane Jérémie threatens their mission and lives, forcing them to rely on one another in ways they never anticipated.
