Small Island

Set in post-war 1948 London, SMALL ISLAND explores themes of empire, prejudice, and love through the intertwined lives of Queenie Bligh and Jamaican lodgers Gilbert Joseph and his wife Hortense. As Queenie navigates societal disapproval while waiting for her husband, Gilbert returns from serving in the RAF, only to face a harsh reality that contrasts sharply with his wartime experiences.
