Euclid

Often regarded as the "Father of Geometry," Euclid's seminal work, The Elements, served as the foundational math manual for over 2,000 years, shaping the way geometry was taught and understood across both Western and Islamic cultures. By introducing the axiomatic method, Euclid structured mathematical knowledge around a core set of self-evident truths, progressing through deductive reasoning to complex theorems and establishing principles still relevant today, including proofs related to prime numbers and the Euclidean algorithm. While modern science recognizes that space can be curved rather than flat, Euclidean geometry remains the most precise way to describe everyday experiences in flat spaces.
