The Testament of Gideon Mack

Mack, raised in a stark household under a harsh father, struggles with his faith and is drawn to the allure of forbidden cartoons. After a fatal clash with his father, he becomes a reluctant minister despite his doubts about God, the Devil, and the afterlife. His life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers a mysterious standing stone and, following a dramatic encounter with a mountain stream, he disappears underground for three days. Upon his return, he appears to have lost his sanity, claiming to have met the Devil during his ordeal.
