On October 29, 1991, the longliner Andrea Gail was tragically lost at sea during an intense convergence of three storms near Canada’s Grand Banks, resulting in waves reaching 100 feet and winds of 80 knots. Despite the discovery of the boat's emergency beacon on Sable Island, the vessel and its six-man crew were never found, leaving behind five children and a grieving small town.
