Birdie Lindberg, a mystery-loving introvert raised in isolation by strict grandparents, takes a job at a historic Seattle hotel the summer before college, hoping to transform into a more adventurous version of herself. Paired with the charismatic van driver Daniel Aoki, she embarks on a quest to solve a real-life mystery involving a reclusive writer rumored to be meeting someone in secret.
