Captive at Kangaroo Springs

In the second installment of the series, "Time is Running Out for the McWaids," Patrick McWaid and his family arrive in Echuca, Victoria, in search of his missing father, who was sent to Australia on a prison ship. As a reward is offered for his father's capture, worried locals form a search party, heightening the family's peril. When an old enemy, Conrad Burke, appears, the stakes rise, leading Mrs. McWaid to seek refuge in a shanty outside town. However, their safety is short-lived as a gang of bushrangers takes them hostage, leaving Patrick to devise a plan for their rescue.
