Escape to Murray River

In the first book of an eight-part series, twelve-year-old Patrick McWaid's life is turned upside down when his father is wrongfully imprisoned and sent to Australia in 1867. Determined to keep the family together, Patrick and his family embark on a journey from Dublin to find a new life "down under." Along the way, they hold onto hope that Patrick's long-lost grandfather, who was sent to Australia thirty years earlier, might assist them in their quest. As they set sail, the McWaids face the uncertainty of their future in a new land.
