These women, often merely inconvenient or misunderstood, find a rare glimmer of hope during the annual Lenten ball, where society gathers to witness their moment in the spotlight. Senior nurse Geneviève has devoted her faith to science until she meets Eugénie, a young woman imprisoned for claiming she can see spirits.
