The Seven That Were Hanged

In "The Seven Who Were Hanged," Leonid Andreyev, a prominent figure of Russia's "Silver Age," crafts a gripping narrative centered around seven individuals facing execution under the Tsarist regime. Among them are five failed terrorists and two others—a peasant who committed murder and a seasoned brigand. This profound work not only showcases Andreyev's literary prowess but also left a lasting impact on historical events, influencing the actions of those like Danilo Ilić, who was inspired by the characters' idealism and courage.
