Nevers

In "Odette," a resourceful fourteen-year-old girl navigates life as a stowaway on a cheese cart with her accident-prone mother, Anneline, in 1799 Burgundy, France. Upon arriving in the quirky town of Nevers, filled with colorful characters, Odette finds solace in an abandoned guardhouse and befriends the easygoing Nicois. As she works as a midwife's assistant, the duo stumbles upon an intriguing mystery that could bring them unexpected wealth and, more importantly, a sense of belonging.
