Outsider Inpatient

Outsider Inpatient is an anthology exploring the significance of art and creativity in psychiatric settings, with a focus on the unique experiences of inpatients at Lillhagen Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. The book highlights how patients transformed hospital corridors through painting and includes insights from a range of professionals, including clinicians and artists, on the nature of "outsider" art and its therapeutic potential. It addresses complex questions about artistic expression and its impact on both creators and the wider psychiatric community, supported by contributions from various scholars and practitioners. Published in collaboration with the Center for Critical Heritage Studies and the University of Gothenburg, the anthology also features illustrations to enrich the discussion.
