Year of the Griffin

Set eight years after offworld tours have ceased, the story follows Wizard Corkoran, who has taken over the Wizards' University after High Chancellor Querida's retirement. Obsessed with reaching the moon, he decides to teach new first-year students, hoping to secure funding from their wealthy families. However, his plans are upended when he discovers one of the students is a giant golden griffin, and none of the others come from affluent backgrounds. As Elda and her friends begin to explore their own magical abilities, chaos ensues, especially when Elda enlists her brothers to help carry out Corkoran's lunar aspirations.
