Seventeen-year-old Maya Aziz navigates the conflicting expectations of her traditional Indian upbringing and her own dreams, which include going to film school in New York City and exploring a budding romance. Her life takes a dramatic turn when a terrorist attack in a nearby city links her family name to the incident, leading to heightened fear and prejudice in her community.
