In modern-day Charleston, Cassidy Kincaide operates Trifles & Folly, an antiques shop concealing a perilous secret: her ability to read the history of objects by touch. Alongside her partners, Teag, a magic-weaving ally, and Sorren, a 600-year-old vampire, they confront escalating supernatural threats—including rising zombies and a city-wide affliction known as the "grouch flu." As they trace these disturbances back to a vengeful dark witch, the trio must rally their supernatural allies, including a Viking demigoddess, to prevent an ancient horror from wreaking havoc on Charleston and beyond.
