Waverly Sloan is a struggling lawyer who discovers an opportunity to reshape his fortunes by assisting terminally ill clients in selling their life insurance policies for immediate cash. As he navigates this morally ambiguous business, he finds himself entangled with high-powered lawyer Lawrence Erickson, whose cancer-stricken wife becomes a client.
