The First Ladies' Guide to Murder

In 1894 Washington, Nellie Grant, the daughter of former President Ulysses S. Grant, returns home seeking refuge from her troubled past in England. However, her mother, Julia, pressures her to attend a White House dinner where the discovery of a missing brooch leads to the tragic death of a young maid named Kitty Thorn, suspected of theft. First Lady Frances Cleveland believes Kitty's death is not a suicide, but rather a murder, and turns to Nellie and Julia for assistance in uncovering the truth, as the investigation threatens to unravel secrets that could impact the entire capital.
