Notes from an Island

Set on the starkly beautiful Klovharun in the Gulf of Finland, Notes from an Island explores the profound relationship between Tove Jansson, the beloved creator of the Moomin universe, and her partner, graphic artist Tuulikki Pietilä, affectionately known as "Tooti." As Jansson collaborates with the unconventional fisherman Brunstroem to construct a cabin that will serve as their summer retreat, the narrative unfolds as a celebration of solitude and the enduring nature of mature love against the ever-changing seascape.
