In the twenty-first century, nearly half a million people live in independent orbiting satellites, known as Worlds, while Earth remains engulfed in conflict. Young Marianne O'Hara, a political science student from New New York, faces the stark realities of life on Earth for the first time, drawn into the turmoil of radical politics.
