Thirteen Steps Down

Mix Cellini, who is superstitious about the number 13 and feels plagued by bad luck, navigates his life in a decaying house where he is intrigued by the dark history of notorious murderer John Christie, a previous resident of the same neighborhood. His landlady is consumed by her library, oblivious to her surroundings, while Mix grapples with infatuation for a beautiful model who hardly notices him. As their psychologically complex worlds intersect, a sudden intrusion of reality triggers a repressed violence to surface in Mix's life.
