After a devastating terrorist bombing claims their parents' lives, the McWilliams children—Sam, Charlotte, Oliver, and baby Julia—are taken in by their unconventional grandparents. At just seven years old, Sam feels an overwhelming responsibility to protect his siblings, leading to obsessive behaviors that result in his placement in a juvenile detention center. Inspired by letters from their deceased parents, Sam creates a darkly comedic troupe called Plum & Jaggers with his siblings, navigating the complexities of tragedy and resilience as they grow into adulthood.
