A Dangerous Deceit

In February 1927, the discovery of a man's remains at Maxtead Court, the estate of the affluent Scroope family, sets off a chain of unsettling events in the village of Folbury. As Margaret Rees-Talbot prepares for her wedding to Rev Symon Scroope, tensions rise due to the recent drowning of her father, Osbert, who had been documenting his wartime experiences. When another death occurs, DI Herbert Reardon realizes that a dark secret lurks among the townspeople, complicating the mystery that unfolds.
