Empire of Night

In "The Empire of Night," the third installment of Robert Olen Butler's Christopher Marlowe Cobb series, set in 1915 during World War I, journalist turned spy Kit Cobb navigates the treacherous landscape of espionage in Britain. After demonstrating his skills on a prior mission, he now infiltrates the home of Sir Albert Stockman, a suspected mole for the British government. Complicating matters, Kit's mother, the renowned actress Isabel Cobb, is also working undercover, tasked with monitoring Stockman while performing in a touring production of Hamlet. As Kit and Isabel venture into enemy territory, they must carefully maintain their cover in a high-stakes game of secrets and intrigue.
