Twelve-year-old Teddy Roosevelt Fitzroy is determined to solve the mystery surrounding the suspicious death of Henry, a hippopotamus at the newly opened FunJungle. While the zoo's officials insist it was a natural demise, Teddy and his assertive friend Summer McCraken suspect foul play, possibly involving the zoo's animal-hating operations head or Summer's money-focused father. As they uncover clues, Teddy and Summer find themselves in increasing danger, realizing that the truth behind Henry's demise may be more perilous than they anticipated.
