Torpedoed

In "Torpedoed," award-winning author Deborah Heiligman recounts the harrowing true story of the SS City of Benares, a passenger ship tasked with evacuating children from England during World War II. As the ship journeys through a convoy towards Canada, it carries ninety CORB children alongside chaperones, crew, and paying passengers. The situation takes a dramatic turn when a German submarine torpedoes the vessel, leading to a gripping exploration of human resilience and morality amidst the chaos of war.
