Dr. Randall Forth is determined to find a cure for the 48-year-fever, prompting him to hypnotize Dr. Jay Allison, who transforms into his alter ego, Jason Allison. This new persona leads a critical expedition into the Hellers to recruit medical volunteers from the Trailmen to develop a serum. As Jason embarks on this journey, he grapples with his burgeoning feelings for Kyla, the trail guide, all while facing the looming challenge of reverting back to Jay, whose cold demeanor threatens their future together.
