After a damaging scandal, young playwright Cass escapes to the West Coast in search of reinvention. There, she meets Caroline, a charismatic filmmaker, and becomes entangled in the unsettling world of teenage girls who are subjects of Caroline's provocative documentary project. As Cass grapples with the troubling ethical implications of Caroline's ambitions, she must confront her own desires and the heavy cost of artistic success.
