The Ship Who Searched

In "Brainship," 7-year-old Hypatia Cade faces the challenges of life as a quadriplegic after contracting an alien virus. Determined to regain her freedom, she embarks on a journey to become a brainship—a cyborg and interstellar spacecraft—while seeking a partner, or "brawn," who will help her navigate the cosmos. As Tia trains and builds her abilities, she must also confront a looming threat posed by the virus that endangers countless lives, possibly leading her to uncover its origins and a potential cure.
